Everyone has a group or "band" of Spirit Guides around them. Your Guides have been with you since birth. It is not uncommon for the Guides that are with you now to have also been your Guides in previous lifetimes as well.
A Spirit Guide has lived on the Earth before, but through many incarnations has learned and perfected all possible earthly lessons. Therefore they no longer need to take a human form and go on to become Spirit Guides for those of us still learning on the Earth Plane.
The purpose of your Spirit Guides is to help you progress along your own unique, spiritual path. Your Guides will not impose their wills on you. So once you have learned their names and abilities, it is up to you to start developing a relationship with them. With the help of an experienced Psychic Medium, you can learn the names of your Guides, along with the unique abilities each one of them possess.
There are also spiritual reasons why you have the Spirit Guides around you that you do. When your Spirit Guides where living on the Earth, they also had lives as unique and individual as those us living on the Earth now. So you and your Spirit Friends are vibrationally drawn together according to the commonality of your life experiences. Theirs when they were living on the Earth and yours that you are experiencing now. This gives you Guides the knowledge and experience to help you, since your Guides have already been through these experiences when they lived on the Earth.
WHAT IS A SPIRIT BAND?
A group of guides are called a "Spirit Band". Everyone has a "Spirit Band that surrounds them. Unfortunately, many people are not even aware that they have these spiritual helpers available.
With the help of an experienced psychic medium it is possible to start learning about your Spirit Band. It is important to understand that a "Psychic" does not have the ability to communicate with the spirit world, so a Psychic cannot tell you or give you the names of your Spirit Guides. Seek out a Psychic Medium for this because a true Psychic Medium is naturally attuned with the Spirit World.
Be careful of Psychics who have suddenly claimed to be a Psychic Medium right after Psychic Mediums started becoming more sought after. Remember, being famous and suddenly "claiming" to be a Psychic Medium does not make one so.

It is not uncommon in your first reading to have only one Spirit Guide present him/herself to you. If after your reading you will begin talking to the Guide that was presented to you during your reading, your vibrational energy will rise, therefore making it possible for more of your Spirit Guides to come through to you in future readings.

SPIRIT GUIDES VERSUS GUARDIAN ANGELS
Spirit Guides are different than Guardian Angels. Both a here to help you but a Guardian Angel has never had a human form and is from the heavenly realms. But, both Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels are around you to help you grow.

Gate Keeper Guide: This is the guide who stands at your energy gate, monitoring and controlling the different Spirit Guides that want to work with you. This Guide protects you from any negative presences trying to enter into your energy field. This guide also makes sure that the Spirit Guides who want to work with you are a vibrationally matched to your energy. This guide is always present with you.
Indian Guide: This is a Native American Spirit Guide that most of us have. This guide is your protector; physically, emotionally and spiritually. An Indian Guide is one of the more common guides to come through in your first reading. Your Indian Guide can also help to protect you from negative entities that may try to enter your energy field.. You can call on your Indian Guide for protection when you feel afraid. This Guide is extremely protective, like a mother or father would be with their child.
Presenter Guide: This Spirit Guide is the most unique of all Guides, because this Guide is not with you all the time. This Guide works with many different people. This guide is only necessary when the loved one trying to speak has a weak energy vibration and cannot communicate without assistance from a Presenter Guide. This Guide assists these souls in raising their vibrations high enough to make communication possible with those of us here on the Earth Plane. Presenter Guides are more commonly needed for assisting young babies or young people who are now on the other side, or people who have just recently passed. Sometimes they are also needed when a deceased elderly person is trying to communicate with you.

This Guide will guide you if you are tuned into his or her energy vibrations.
Professor Guide: This guide can help you in learning, studying or gathering knowledge. You can have more than one Professor Guide in your Spirit Band, each with a different expertise or knowledge. You should call on these guides for guidance in business opportunities or decisions, career guidance, life purpose, financial help or planning. Call on these Guides when you need guidance, direction or knowledge ahead of time.
Chemist Guide: This guide works in the Spiritual Realms and can help you to develop your psychic ability. This Guide can give you any type of psychic or spiritual knowledge that you need or desire. Call on this Guide to help you develop your psychic abilities and/or for helping you to learn about anything related to the psychic or spiritual world.
Master Guide - Teacher: These Guides are very wise, loving and knowledgeable. They are the highest evolved Guides of all Spirit Guides. Master Guides live on the 7th Astral Realm, the highest realm in the spiritual hierarchy. These Guides are usually older men or women and are usually Asian, Roman, Greek, African, Middle Eastern, Mayan, Aztec or Atlantean in descent. Since they are the oldest souls in the Spiritual Realms, they have been Spirit Guides in the Spiritual Realms for many centuries. Some, since the beginnings of the most advanced cultures in history. You are considered very fortunate and blessed if a Master Guide or Teacher appears to you during a reading. These Guides come to you when you are close to your last lifetime on the Earth Plane. This would indicate that you are among the oldest of the living souls on Earth.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SPIRIT GUIDES
Q - Can two people have the same Spirit Guide?
A - I am often asked if two people can have the same Spirit Guide. Usually, this is not the case. Just as there are many people living on the earth, there are many Spirit Guides in the Spirit World. But it is unlikely that you will have the same guide as someone else. It is possible under unusual circumstances, but highly unlikely, unless it is a Presenter Guide.
Q - Can two Spirit Guides have the same name?
A - I am also asked if two different people can have a spirit guide with the same name. Like those of us living on the earth can have the same names, those living in the Spirit World can also have the same names too. Like people living on the earth who share the same names, they are totally different people, each unique in their own ways. The same is also true in the Spirit World. In many ways, the Spirit World is an ethereal replica of the Earth Plane.
Q - Will our Spirit Guides ever leave us?
A - There are two answers to this question, and both are “yes” but for different reasons. I am told by my guides that the day you discover the names of your Spirit Guides; a celebration takes place in the Spirit World. Your Guides want and desire to work with you. As they help you grow here on the Earth, your Guides also grow and evolve in the Spiritual Realms. Since your Guides are also evolving, spiritual beings, just like you, they want to grow and evolve on the other side too. So as long as you continue to reach out to your Guides when you discover their names, they will continue to work with you, usually throughout your whole lifetime. But if you stop reaching out to them for a long, long period of time (a year or more), they will seek out others who want and desire their help and assistance. Remember, this is a two-way relationship. When you ignore or forget about your Guides, you cause them to be held back from attaining spiritual benefits on the other side.
You may also have worked with a Guide for many, many lifetimes together and in this lifetime, you may have learned all that you can from that particular Guide. In this case, a Guide will bless you and move on and a new, more evolved Guide will enter your Band taking his or her place. It is very uncommon for this to happen unless you are a highly advanced soul, such as Buddha, Jesus, Mohammad or other great spiritual leaders or teachers.
