Overconfidence is when a person is too confident in his own ability and judgment. An overconfident person overestimates his own performance and thinks they are better than other people.

Overconfidence leads to more talk than doing the actual work and causing other people to lose trust in you. Boosting your own confidence is not a bad thing, but it should be done in moderation.

The first step to avoiding overconfidence is being mindful of other people. Consider their thoughts and opinions and avoid one-upping them. It’s never a competition and you are all working towards the same thing. It’s better to be humble than fall flat on your face in the end.

Confidence is good, but overconfidence sinks the ship. Guard your words and actions and avoid putting other people down. It will never end well for you.
