Are There Really Such Things As Coincidences? – by Tana Hoy
There are no coincidences – events simply don’t happen by chance!
For instance, you decide to stop by a coffee shop on the way home, which is something that you don’t usually do. Minutes later, an accident happens down the road where you should’ve been, had you continued driving. Was it a stroke of luck?
Or you were just thinking of a childhood playmate, and you suddenly bump into her in the mall. You later learn that she’s a real estate agent – just as you’re considering putting your house on the market. Do you think it’s a twist of fate?
Why Events Happen When They Do
The reason why people are amazed by what seems to simply be a “coincidence” is because they have a tendency to focus only on what they can observe with their physical senses.
But the truth is, there is a magnitude of events taking place in the spiritual realm – in the background, so to speak – that makes all these seemingly random events coincide perfectly with one another. And if people could directly observe these metaphysical events that are happening behind the scenes, then they would realize that there really is no such thing as a coincidence.
Let me explain. The universe is energy, and everything in it is energy. Your thoughts are energy, and spiritual beings are also made of energy. All of these energies are at work in the spiritual planes, creating one universal reality. This universal reality is beyond our human capability to truly fathom.
Now, all these energy vibrations from people, from nature, from spirits, from the planets – these are in constant interaction with each other, although some interactions are stronger than others.
So, the energy vibrations that you emit from your thoughts, emotions, feelings, actions, and deeds, has a direct effect on everything else in the universe, the same as others’ energy vibes have an effect on you.
How Do Coincidental Events Happen?
The events that you witness are a result of the energy vibrations in the spiritual planes manifesting in the physical world. Seemingly random events coincide, because of this interaction of energies happening in the spiritual plane.
For example, your intention to be wealthy is sent out into the universe as energy vibrations. The universe responds, and you suddenly or eventually have business opportunities opening up in front you. These opportunities may seem like mere happenstance, but in reality, they are the result of the energy vibrations you originally sent out.
What you may see as a mere coincidence occurs because of an intricate mesh of underlying metaphysical events.
Here are some of the things that can cause what appears to be “coincidences” to manifest in your life:
• Karma.
What you may think of as mere coincidences may be the result of karma. Because of karma (or the law of cause and effect), you experience the repercussions of all your thoughts, desires, and actions – good or bad – immediately. Either in the future, or even in your next lifetime.
For example, you may have given your last dollar to a starving elderly woman and, as you walk home penniless, you suddenly find ten dollars on the pavement of an empty street. This may seem like a coincidence, but it’s karma at work.
• Past life events.
What happened in your past life can also be a factor for coincidental events that happen in this one. For example, when you meet your soul mate, or someone with whom you formed a romantic bond in your past life, you may seem to connect with each other without any apparent explanation. You are magnetized by each other’s energy. Your meeting is not accidental, nor a fluke, but this person is someone you might have been in love with in one of your past lives!
• A soul promise.
Before you were born into this lifetime, you may have promised to help another soul with a spiritual lesson he or she needs to learn, or vice versa. A long or short encounter with other people in this lifetime can be a fulfillment of that promise.
For example, you promised to help another soul be more patient, while he or she promised to help you become more compassionate. In this lifetime, she may be your teacher in kindergarten and, as her pupil you helped her improve her patience, and she taught you how to be more compassionate.
• Psychic impressions.
The result of listening to your premonitions, or following your gut feeling is certainly not coincidence.
Whether you are aware of it or not, you have psychic abilities, which is why you may get strong impressions about events that are happening, or are about to happen. The energy vibrations from these events can resonate in your soul, and as they surface into your conscious mind, you become consciously aware of them.
For example, you have a strong feeling in your gut to stop walking, so you stop right where you are, which saves you from a falling branch. Or you dream that your sister is sick, and later learn that she is.
• Your intentions and decisions.
Your intentions and conscious decisions are powerful energy signals that the universe responds to. Opportunities may open up, or situations may begin to change. These may mistaken for luck or coincidence, but they are actually a result of your previous thoughts or intentions.
All occurrences happen in harmony with one another, although the human mind cannot normally comprehend the beauty and magnitude of the synchronicity of events.
So whenever things seem to be just “falling in place” even when the odds are not in your favor, or when “the timing is perfect”, or you’re at the right place at the right time doing the right thing, smile and take pleasure in the knowledge that it’s not a mere coincidence. And realize that you actually caused it to happen!
Dear Tana,
Will you please do a youtube video on merpeople. I know you did a blog and it attracted me which I know wasn’t a coincidence. I have a very strong connection to them (past-life?) since a small child and my soul mate has also had a strong connection to the water but he expressed his differently than mine.
Thank You,
Lance
I was talkiing to a friend I hadn’t seen in about nine months. He, my brother, and I were talking about this subject. We determined there is something to the idea of coinsidence. It seems only common sense, but it is difficult to accept as truth.
